Male pelvic region, artwork. This sagittal section through the male pelvic region shows the anus and rectum (right, the final part of the digestive system), and the base of the backbone (cream blocks). The bladder (centre) stores urine, which exits the body via the urethra, the tube passing through the penis (left, erectile tissue shown). Each testis (one at right of penis) produces sperm (male sex cells), which pass along the vas deferens, the tube passing over the pubic bone (brown). Sperm mixed with fluids from the seminal vesicle (white) and the prostate gland (below bladder) forms semen, which exits the body through the urethra.
