Stucture of the bone affected by osteoporosis (spongy cancellous bone). A bone is composed of compact tissue at the periphery and of spongious tissue in the center. The structure of the osteoporotic bone is vented, therefore more fragile and prone to breaks in case of shock. See images 1581607 for the healthy bone, 1581707 and 1926307 for the osteoporotic bone.
