Vigorous, upright growth; berries large, oftentimes measuring one and one-half inches in diameter; of excellent flavor; color dark red; of English birth. Thrives best in partial shade. It is very hardy, entirely free from mildew, superior in size and quality and more productive than the Downing, and is likely to supersede this standard sort.
