Ventral produced into a filament, reaching anal. Caudal rounded. Caudal peduncle as long as deep. Scales cycloid, 27-28 j2 > lateral lines ^^. Purplish brown above, cheek and opercle yellow, belly carmine-red; a large black spot on the operculum and another on the posterior part of the spinous dorsal, which is dark â f)urplish ; soft dorsal carmine-red ; ventral carmine-red, edged witli black.
