The best description that can be given of the market of last week is that '' the bottom dropped ; There was never a better demonstration of supply and demand regulating prices than in the Baltimore market last week. While the demand has been fairly good, there has been so much stock on hand that, after the day's business, to look over the stock instead of the books, one would suppose no business had been done. While June weddings have been using their full share of stock, com- mencements, which usually take much stock at this season, have, for some reason, fallen short of previous years. But it will not be long before the sup- ply will have fallen off and business will again be down to normal. No florist has any room to complain of this spring's business; bedding^ plants, for instance, reached prices this spring that were never heard of before, and while there is no doubt that these prices will fall a little in the future, they will never go back to their once low level. The writer recently saw verbenas sold at 25 cents each, while he himself has sold thousands of them for 50 cents per dozen in previous years. A cor- responding advance seems to be the case with all lines of bedding stock. There is one thin
