Blotch (Phyllosticta solitaria Ell. & Ev.). — In some sections of this country this disease of ])ark, leaf, and fruit is even more troublesome than any of the preceding, though its distinct identity was not recognized until 1897, when the first specimens came from Maryland and Texas.
