PACIFIC OCEAN (March 21, 2017) Gunner's Mate Seaman Whittie Hall IV, from Douglasville, Ga., and Seaman John Stapleton, from Killeen, Texas, remove a fueling probe after the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) completes a replenishment-at-sea while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
