San Diego (March 23, 2022) — Pacific Partnership staff and partner nation representatives pose for a group photo during the final planning conference (FPC) in San Diego, March 23, ahead of Pacific Partnership 2022 (PP22). The five-day conference provides a forum for discussion and includes representatives from Australia, Japan, Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States. Now in its 17th year, PP22, led by Navy Capt. Hank Kim, Commander, Amphibious Squadron 3, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific. The PP22 team will be embarked aboard hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) for the mission scheduled to begin in May.
