Moon exhibition model. This model of the Moon, the world's largest Moon globe, is a display inside the defunct gasometer in Oberhausen, Germany. The gasometer provide an arena 64 metres wide and 100 metres tall. The Moon model has a diameter of 25 metres. The lighting display shows the Moon passing through all its phases. The data for the globe is from the German space agency (DLR) and from NASA's Clementine spacecraft. The Moon globe can be observed through the telescope seen in the foreground. This display was created to mark the International Year of Astronomy in 2009.
