A 1914 depiction of Bridget Deyens (Also known as Bridget Deavers and Biddywimen Devins etc) was of Irish Descent and rode with the First Michigan Cavalry during the American Civil War where she became known as Michigan Bridget when caring for soldiers and even serving as a substitute soldier, riding with the First Michigan Cavalry during the American Civil War
