On the hind-wings the black central band is broader than in the typicalgalatea. The upper and undersides of both sexes are Tubbs has now named this abberration craskei. Mr. Craske has observed this form annually in tworestricted areas on the South Downs, since 1970. In the wildthe ratio of aberrant forms to typical varies from 1 in 20 to1 in 50.
