A giant rainbow of lasers has been beamed over the City of Edinburgh from Edinburgh Castle to send a message of love, hope and kindness from Scotland to people around the world. As it is one year since COVID19 in the UK the installation is also a tribute to NHS staff and key workers who have been working on the front lines of the pandemic during the past year. The installation was created by Berlin based artist Yvette Mattern and has been travelling the world since its creation in 2009. The rainbow was originally scheduled to run during in January but was postponed due to lockdown.
