The Market. The supply of cut flowers was greatly increased all along the line last week, bulbous stock coming to the front in great quantities. There has been a good demand for everything, so that a gen- eral clean-up occurs each day. Roses and carnations continue good and sweet peas are steadily increasing in supply. Plants are selling well, the bulbous kinds being most in evidence. Various Notes. The greenhouses of the Laphani Floral Co., at Pawtucket, were broken into one night last week. A large palm was car- ried off. William B. Hazard is on the job again after a severe attack of the grip. W. M. Sloan, representing the New England Florist Supply Co., of Boston, has been calling on the trade in this vicinity. It is understood that an effort is to be made to recruit members for the Flo- rists' and Gardeners' Club of Rhode Island, so as to include in its member- ship all eligibles throughout the state. The club has an interesting and credit- able history, dating back to about 1890. Herman G. Dolbeck, designer for Vose's, of Woonsocket, was in New York last week in the interests of the firm. Mark A. Cassidy & Co. have removed from the Strand building, Washington street, this city, to 78 Dorrance street. The new quarters are larger and more centrallv located. W. H. M. KNOXVILLE, TENN. The Market.
