For cataloguing pur-poses, a book was then known and describedexclusively bv its title. The author wasdisregarded entirelv, unless his namehappened to stand first in the title, ,The Voyages of Captain Cook are enteredunder Voyages—not under History of New South Wales is given under History —there isno entry under either Lang or New South Wales.
