The Maamur told me, when he cameto see me soon afterwards, that he was thankful to learnthat the British had taken possession of the stones, forhe could not have protected them adequately. He thensuggested that I should acquire from him six other Kufigrave-stones which he had in a shed near his house, andas his price was very moderate, I did so.
