J. Berckmans, of Georgia ; S. B. Brackett, U. S. Pomologist, and others. It is evidently worthy of trial. WADDELL. Another new early Peach, originating in - Georgia, and commended especially by Mr. Hale, who has planted it largely. It is of medium to large size, oblong in shape ; creamy white, with bright blush ; tlesh firm, white, and very sweet and rich when ripe ; freestone. One notable thing is the long-keeping quality of Waddell, and also its exceptional capacity for shipping. There is no doubt as to the value of this new Peach. BERENICE. (Chinesestrain.) Large to very large; yel- = low, mottled with dark crimson; flesh yel- low, melting, juicy and rich. End of July to middle of August. In point of excellent qualities, it is superior to any yellow Peach of its season, is most showy and an excellent shipper; its good quality also commends it to the planter. It originated with the late Dr. L. E. Berckmans, in 1877, and after 21 years' trial we have nothing equal to it at the same season. 25 cts. each. ORIOLE. Large; yellow, rich, buttery. Middle of Au- i gust. A yellow-fleshed Chinese Cling. 25 cts. HILEY. Kipens with Tillotson, but is of larger size, and = very highly colored.
