An extensive 8 ft high steel wall used by Met Police to block off Trafalgar Square and Whitehall during the N30 demonstration


For the first time in London, on November 30th 2011, police installed a 9 foot high steel cordon/ wall extending about 200 meters blocking access to Whitehall/ the Mall/ Charing Cross Road and Trafalgar Square. The wall was punctuated by sliding doors to enable the passage of vehicles and windows for observation. The N30 Demonstration against pension cuts was entirely peaceful and composed of Trade Unionists many of whom worked in the public sector.
