Fossilised amphibian. This amphibian Discosauriscus austriacus belongs to the Seymouriamorpha family. Seymouriamorphs are thought to be hybrid species as they hold piscine qualities as well as reptilian ones, particularly in their aquatic juveniles, which demonstrates the evolutionary transition from fish to reptiles. These creatures lived mainly in the Permian period (about 300-250 million years ago) and were extinct by the end of this period. Fossil found in Moravia, Czech Republic.
