Theseare not imlike those built for the BostonElevated and for the New York Sub-way. The side sill of the car is a 6 in. chan-nel, to which is riveted a J4 i- steelplate which is also secured to an angleiron below the window sills, thus makinga continuous plate girder along each sideof the car. The cross sills of the car aremade of 6 in. I-beams and the steel floorrests directly upon these beams. Abovethis sheet steel floor there is a 2 in. spacefilled with mineral wool and upon wood-.
