HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS TYPE 2


Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV2) responsible for genital herpes. This photomicrograph shows the herpes simplex virue Type-II in a genital smear using immunofluorescent technique. HSV-2 usually affects the genital tract, therefore, it's known as genital herpes, and is more common in women where approximately one out of four women are affected, as opposed to almost one out of five men.
