A cover of plastic was screwed down over the four chambers and sealed with petroleum jelly. A series of plastic connectors with stopcocks com- municated through the cover into the respiration chambers. Manometers with colored kerosene indicators were fitted into the stopcock connectors. Syringes filled with 100% oxygen were fitted to the stopcock connectors of the pulmonary.
