Color silvery, dorsal and anal dusky, anterior part of soft dorsal and anal blackish. One specimen, 21 inches long, type no. 57782, U. S. National >; from Honolulu market. In the report on the Fishes of Samoa (p. 230) a Caraiix tjiompiiimi Se&h- is listed from Hawaii. This is a manuscript name only and should have been suppressed. 11.
