Maneuvering for The Attack on Bougainville. Supported by a Navy task force, Coast Guardsmen maneuver landing craft, filled with Marine Invasion Troops, towards the Japanese-held beach at empress Augusta Bay, on Bougainville Island in the Northern Solomons. The Amphibious force fought off Japanese Air Attacks to make a successful landing, and establish an allied beachhead on Bougainville.
