A 1940's printed photo of the British QSMV (quadruple-screw motor vessel) 'Dominion Monarch' , a passenger & mail ship that sailed to Australia & New Zealand. She was a UK passenger (air conditioned and refrigerated) cargo liner. Her name referenced the Dominion of New Zealand. The record breaking refrigerated ship built in England later served as a troop carrier, later still as a floating hotel. Launched during 1938, she had been built by Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson of Wallsend as yard number 1547 for the Shaw, Savill & Albion Line. She was scrapped in Japan.
