The maintenance of robust health and a good constitution should beone of the chief aims of every girl. It is impossible to cultivate the bodywithout benefit to the mind; likewise, in order to cultivate the mind prop-erly one should learn to care for the body. With this end in view, agymnasium for women has been provided. It is well equipped with ap-paratus, shower-baths, lockers, etc., and a well-regulated system of phys-ical training is in successful Womens gymnasium. Forty-sixth Annual Catalogue. 127 Daily classes are held in light gymnastics—free standing work, march-ing, fancy steps, drills with dumb-bells, wands, and Indian clubs, withmusical accompaniment; heavy gymnastics, including horse, parallel bars,chest weights, flying ring, ladder, stall bars, climbing ropes, and hori-zontal bar.
