Beforeit empties into the Delaware River at Wilmington it traverses historiccountry — country made famous in the Revolution by the Battle ofthe Brandywine. Though a comparatively small stream, there may befound along its banks the ruins of old time mills —? many of themprobably grist mills — where the quiet farmer folk of years gone bywould take their grain.
