The parallel telephoneand telegraph lines where a large number of wires werecarried on one pole also were brought to the ground bythe breaking of the poles due to the weighing down of thewires to the breaking point. The catenary, as earlierstated, withstood these severe weather conditions with butone br,eak. This type of construction has three-point sus-pension and is supported by wooden poles.
