Blanchland is a model village in Northumberland, England, on the County Durham boundary. Set beside the river in a wooded section of the Derwent valley, Blanchland is an attractive small village in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Today Blanchland is reputed to be one of the prettiest villages in England, and is a popular destination for visitors from all over the world. Built into one of the windows of the village Post Office and shop is a post box which dates from the reign of Queen Victoria.
