Front view of VLT 8 the first production Routemaster RM 8 to be built following on from the successful trials of four prototypes It first appeared at the Commercial Motor Show in October 1958 some months before full production commenced RM 8 was finally released for service in 1976 a full 7 years after the last production bus RML 2760 carried its first passengers After 9 years service RM 8 was bought for preservation by the aptly named RM 8 Club and shown here at the Cobham Bus Museum Annual Spring Bus Coach gathering at Wisley Airfield Surrey 5th April 2009
