Proboscis aborted ; palpi porrect to j ust beyond frons, fringed with long hair below; fi'ons smooth; eyes large, rounded; antennoe of male typically minutely serrate with fascicles of very long cilia; head and thorax clothed with long hair only ; tibiie fringed with long hair, the tarsi with short hair; abdomen clothed with rough hair but without crests. Fore wing with veins 3 and 5 from near angle of cell; 6 from upper angle; 9 from 10 anasto- mosing with 8 to form the areole ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 from angle of cell; 5 obsolescent from or from just below middle of discocellulars ; 6, 7 from upper angle or shortly stalked ; 8 anastomosing with the cell near base only.
