December 6, 1913.] ELECTRIC RAILWAY JOURNAL POWER DISTRIBUTION ON THE TWIN CITY SYSTEM The steam power plant which supplements the output oftwo water-power plants from which the system of the TwinCity Rapid Transit Company is supplied with power hasbeen undergoing material changes. The plant originallycontained four 5000-hp vertical reciprocating engines,which have been replaced by one 14,000-kw turbine andthree 15,000-kw turbines, and the space originally plannedfor a fifth engine has been occupied by two 5000-kwturbines for the past eight years. The distributing systemhas also been improved by the addition of two new sub-stations, Girard and University, while new equipment hasbeen installed in the Snelling substation
