The future Registrar be-gan his education in the publicschools of Detroit, and continued itin those of San Francisco, becominga pupil in the famous old LincolnGrammar, and being now, togetherwith many other men prominent inSan Francisco public life, a memberof the Lincoln School Association. He also took a course at thePacific Business College, acquiring a knowledge of telegraphy, andserved for a time as operator with the ^^estern Lnion he entered the College of Pharmacy of the University of
