Capt. Stanley Scott Sr., Army Air Corps pilot, was awarded the POW medal posthumously by Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX, at the Dyess Museum, April 18, 2017. He was killed in action in Korea, March 6, 1952. Since he was killed in action, the Air Force had been unable to locate discharge papers as documentation for the POW medal. Cornyn’s office collected proper documentation of Scott’s service and work from his son and sent it to the Air Force to secure the medal.
