It is altogether a less fierce and pugnacious bird, and will often be seen perched in the same attitude for long ; Genus ONYCHORHYNCHUS Fischer. OnycJiorhynehus Fischer, Zoognosia, p. 31, 1814. The bill is wide and flattened, the width being about half the length of the exposed culmen, the tip of the upper mandible sharply hooked, and the gape furnished with largely developed rictal bristles.
