This Tuareg has come to the annual gathering of Tuareg nomads, the Cure Salé, the Salt Cure, in the north of Niger. The Cure Salé is a time for exchanging news, arranging marriages, and negotiating social and political questions among the various Tuareg clans. The beauty of a camel's decorations can be a sign of social and economic status.
