In season this pea matures after the American Wonder, and is larger and more vigorous. Earlier and more prolific than the Premium Gem. The pods are always well filled with the sweetest, richest flavored wrinkled peas in cultivation. This pea has no superiors among the early class for a home garden variety. There have been so many new varieties of Peas offered by seedsmen in the last few years that planters have become some- what skeptical of the merits of new aspirants for public favor, but the Heroine has been a conspicuous exception.
