It should be sown in conjunction with some other grass such as Timothy or Awnless Brome Grass. Clover is unexcelled as a soiling crop and is much used for silage. The seed crop yields a profitable return, the seed reproducing about 30 fold on the average, and can usually be taken from the second growth after the first has been cut for hay.
