Myrsidea diffusa Kellogg and Chapman, which was taken from the as well as from several passerine hosts, was the only species of the genus which was recorded to have been ever taken from the Ardeidaj. Description of the female :—Body a. Myrsidea teraokai n. sp., female. short> broad> MI mm. long and X50. b. Ventral aspect of the anterior mm. wide; with enormously developed part of abdomen, x 50. metathorax. Ground colour or body pale brownish ; with distinct markings of pitchy brown on head and with smoky brownish lateral bands on abdomen.
