SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2009) -- Members of the real estate division at the Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District (from left to right) Mike Anda, Joe Powers, Sharon Caine, Ryan Taylor, Chuck Rairdan, Jenn Olsson, Kathy Burnett, Tashawna Summer, Cheryl Williams, Janice Will, Steven Matthews, Ty Chamberlain, Larry Wright. Thanks to the hard work of the real estate division, the Sacramento District paid the first claim under the expanded Homeowners Assistance Program's (HAP) Oct. 13, just 9 business days after the Department of Defense issued new program implementation guidelines Sept. 30. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 increased funding for HAP and temporarily expanded its eligibility. HAP is a Department of Defense program, administered by the Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps' Sacramento District processes applications from the western United States and American military installations throughout the Pacific region.
