The repeating pattern consists of a wavy rank, which is interrupted on the tops and in the valleys through a diamond-shaped rosette flower with open-worked flower heart. Halfway through each wave sits a curved leaf on either side of the rank. The slight sloping edge along the underside of the strip is formed by a concatenation of smaller rosette flowers with a cut-away flower heart. The motifs are connected to each other by a diamond-shaped mesh soil, a fat mat of grille. The motifs are made in linen stroke
