Lands descend by right of inheritance : the Huron Council alone beingauthorized to issue location tickets, none are granted l)Ut to the Huron boys ; strangers being excluded,though Hurons owning land beyond the village and paying taxes and tythes thereon, such as Tahourenche,\incent and others, are admitted to vote in parliamentary elections. The Hurons are divided into four families: that of the Deer; of the Tortoise: of the Bear; of the Wolf.
