The sexual size-differential declines from south to north, and in the case of C. c. procerus the tail-length in males drops appreciably compared with the other races, whereas females are scarcely affected. The large standard deviations present in the C. c. campestris (a littoral race) tail-length samples are also relevant. Females of nominate chiniana average longest tails. Comparable data for the western races C. and C. c. smithersi are given in Clancey (1990).. Figure 1.
