An Ottoman miquelet-lock rifle (tüfek), 1st half of the 18th century, Octagonal, nine-groove rifled barrel of fine rose damascus steel in 16 mm calibre with copper front sight and chiselled iron rear sight. Above the muzzle and chamber ornamental silver inlays with en suite silver inlaid miquelet lock (tension lever at the cock missing). Stock of grained maple with bone nose, the butt and fore-end with profuse, ornamental bone and star-shaped brass inlays. The underside of the butt with brass inlaid hexagram and patchbox.
