Even if it sometimes feels like a large metropolis, Reykjavík is a very small city. In 2015, there were 211,282 people living in the capital region. Of those, 121,822, or just over half, lived in Reykjavík proper, with the rest living in other municipalities in the metropolitan area. This means that the greater Reykjavík area has a population similar to the city of Des Moines, Iowa, in the US, or a little less than the city of Southampton in the UK. Taken at @ Reykjavík, Iceland
