For the purpose of proving guarantees a test offour days was run, which showed a maximum evaporation on one day lb. and an average evaporation of lb. per pound of coke. At the Upson Nut Co., previous to the installation of the Bradshawburner, the average coal consumption over a year had been 1145 tons permonth. This coal consumption was reduced to 100 tons per month, aquantity which is actually required for carrying their boilers over thecasts. At the same time the Upson Nut is now constantly bleedingconsiderable quantities of gas. Conclusion Boiler efficiencies depend on both efficient burners and good boilermorals. If either of the two is lacking, high efficiency will generallybe impossible. Boiler morals include proper conditions in the boilerplant itself, as well as intelligent working and
