Once a remote former crofting settlement, hunting lodge and deer forest in the Monadhliath Mountains, Highland Council Area, lying at the head of Strath Dearn, some 9 miles (15 km) southeast of Tomatin and 10 miles West of Aviemore. The area is fed by the waters from the headstreams of the River Findhorn SCO 2068
