The kind of soil is not of much consequence, jorovided the plants can root freely in a considera))Ie bulk of it; but when a soil has to be made for the purpose, it may with advantage consist of good loam three parts, lime ruljbish (from which large stones and bricks have been remov^ed) one part, and sharp grit one part.
