Hart’s-tongue fern (Asplenium scolopendrium = Phyllitis scolopendrium) grows in grike (crevice) limestone pavement England

Phyllitis scolopendrium is an evergreen fern. The underside of the leaves have marks reminiscent of centipedes legs, leading to the species name 'scolopendrium' (the Latin for centipede!) Common name hart’s-tongue fern derives from a hart, an old name for a deer. It was thought that the plant looks like a deer's tongue.
