This battery was in the field for a short time during theAntietam emergency. It was mustered into the United States service at Harrisburgupon June 19th, 1863, for the emergency. The battery was effectively engagedin actions at Sporting Hill, a few miles west of Harrisburg, upon June 30th, andat Carlisle, July ist, when in the early evening the town was shelled by the Con-federates.
