The weather, which had been unusu- ally warm and spring-like, brought on thousands of good carnations, but sud- denly changed Saturday, April 3, though not sufficiently to do much harm to business. Easter Sunday, however, was bad, with intense cold, considerable snow and, later, heavy rains. Calla lilies were plentiful and sold well. Easter lilies, though not over- plentiful, were sufficient to fill about all the orders. Orchids and gardenias were in excellent shape and sold well. Val- ley was in good demand and there was an adequate supply. There was a fine supply of sweet peas on hand and these were particularly popular this year. Most of this stock was of high quality, few of the inferior grades being seen. There was a mam- moth supply of roses in all grades and varieties and the demand was good. This stock was fresh and was considered to be as good as ever seen at Easter. Mignonette, marguerites, primulas, calendulas and myosotis sold well. Heavy shipments of bulbous stock ar- rived each day and fairly glutted the market, but, fortunately, the greater part of it moved.
